Sprint Launching Two Android Devices October 11th?
Some of the best Android tips and leaks over the last year have come from xda-developers . Here’s a case of one that took a little over 4 months to come to fruition. All the way back in April, a “senior member” from their forum had the following to say … I work for a wireless developer firm and I have just received word from the US carrier (cannot disclose who yet) that the release date for the HTC Hero (Android) is October 11th 2009. Rather odd to be so specific and call out dates 7 months down the road, eh? Looks like he was right though ! Taking a look at the picture above, you’ll see not only the HTC Hero listed, but a “Samsung Q (Android)” as well. We’re curious to see what exactly that turns out to be. Engadget Mobile thinks it “could provide a missing link between the InstinctQ and the company’s mysterious Android phone that was supposed to be out on Sprint and T-Mobile by now.” What do you guys think? Anyone looking to jump to Sprint for the Hero

HTC Hero headed to Sprint on October 11?
We’ve heard rumblings of this for a long time, but this is the first time I’ve seen an actual piece of photographic proof, weak as it might be in these Photoshop days. This comes from an XDA-Developers forum member that has been making the same October 11 claim for Sprint and the Hero for some time.

iriver developing Android rival to iPod touch?
iriver are reportedly considering using Android as the basis for an iPod touch rival, the iriver K2, which would use a 3.5-inch touchscreen, WiFi, Bluetooth and integrated digital TV tuner. The news comes from an Australian distributor, C.R. Kennedy, whose iriver product manager Danny Bejanoff has been discussing the Korean company’s upcoming product range. While the device has not been signed off by iriver, leaving open the possibility that it could be shelved before making it to retail, the expectation is that the K2 would include an accelerometer and a web-browser. Although it would lack the iPod touch’s Apple App Store, it would presumably have access to the Android Market for third-party software.
