Announcing the Winners of ADC 2
Back in May at Google I/O, we announced ADC 2 — the second Android Developer Challenge — to encourage the development of cool apps that delight mobile users. We received many interesting and high-quality applications — everything from exciting arcade games to nifty productivity utilities. We also saw apps that took advantage of openness of Android to enhance system behavior at a deep level to provide users with a greater degree of customization and utility.
Google vult officiële Android-site met nieuwe informatie
Google heeft de officiële website Android.com weer eens bijgewerkt. Dat is dit jaar al eens eerder gebeurd, waarna er een update van Android OS volgde. Google heeft onlangs ook hun gebruiksvoorwaarden bijgewerkt, die op 11 december 2009 ingaan.
Twidroid 3.0 nu beschikbaar voor download in de Android Market
Twidroid is waarschijnlijk de bekendste en meest gebruikte Twitter-client voor Android. Het leek er echter even op dat Twidroid ten onder zou gaan aan zijn eigen succes. Regelmatig kwamen er updates maar uiteindelijk leken die de hele applicatie alleen maar zwaarder en dus trager te maken waardoor Twidroid terein prijs moest geven aan een aantal nieuwkomers als I Tweet en het recent gelanceerde Seesmic.
Expect More Android-based Acer Phones by Next Year
So Acer has their first Android phone named Acer Liquid A1 already in the UK . Now, it appears that they are planning on launching more Android-based phones by next year, according to Reuters. Aymar de Lencquesaing – Acer’s head of mobile phone products – told Reuters in an interview, that they expect to reach a ‘milestone’ of 1 million handsets sold next year.

On Google’s free mobile OS, many are using Twidroid, which today, has released the new 3.0 version, with various new features.
