API is an industry standard term, most things make themselves available for interaction via APIs (for instance, programs interact with Windows via the Windows API)

Both are completely different things, IPA is Apple’s filetype for iPhone applications (I-Phone-Application), while API is an acronym for Application Programming Interface.

well i see this as nothing new. “apps w/o borders” is the core philosophy of open source. open libraries with freedom to be used by anyone, ergo not having to reinvent the wheel. just look at the number of bash scripts that use zenity, there’s no need for gtk+ code when it is already done.

Android should have been the biggest tech/social thing of 2008.
