Last weekend Michael Arrington of TechCrunch abandoned the iPhone for an Android phone as the CEO of Google Eric Schmidt resigns from the Apple board of directors today. The growth of Android and the emergence of the Chrome OS made it inevitable that Eric Schmidt being the CEO of Google with these competing interests had to resign from the board of Apple .
